3-27-20 fdl county public health officer predicts more positive covid-19 cases, community spread

The Fond du Lac County Public Health Officer predicts more positive cases and at some point community spread from the coronavirus in Fond du Lac County.    There are currently 17 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Fond du Lac County and one death.   Statewide there are more than 700 cases and eight deaths.   Public Health Officer Kim Mueller says the county has been waiting about a week for several tests to come back.   “We’ll get a whole bunch of negatives, but I’m guessing we will see a jump in our positives as well,”  Mueller told WFDL news.  “There is that definate possibility that we could start seeing community spread.”  Mueller says 10 county residents who tested positive have recovered.   Meanwhile the Fond du Lac County Health Department website now has a coronavirus update icon that will be updated daily with information on the number of local cases.
