The Fond du Lac city council has approved a bike share program. The council approved the resolution at their meeting this week for the agreement with Zagster that would enable the city, in partnership with Alliant Energy, to initiate the program. Community Development director Dyann Benson says Alliant has offered to sponsor the bike share for two years. After each year, ridership data will be assessed to determine if its worthwhile to continue the program. Bike share stations will be located in Lakeside Park and downtown. Benson says the city is committed to enhancing bicycle facilities and amenities through the Bike-Pedestrian Plan, Bike Loop Master Plan and investment in new and improved trails.
