12-3-19 fund fondy-giving tuesday

What should you buy this holiday season for someone who has everything and believes in paying it forward?   Fund Fondy allows people to purchase a gift for a United Way member non-profit organization in their name.  Sally Swick helped launch the program last year and says the public has an opportunity to purchase an alternative gift on Giving Tuesday, December 3,  at the Alternative Giving Market.  “That’s what you get to do here.  All the charities have tables so they’ll be talking with you.  You can shop by asking what’s important and buy a gift that’s important to the person you are giving it to,”  Swick told WFDL news.   Former Fond  du Lac city manager Tom Herre says it’s a great way to help teach the importance of being passionate about helping others.  Herre says you buy a “gift”  from one of the non-profits in honor of the recipient, and you get a gift card for them.  The three hour event starts at  4:30pm Tuesday December 3 at the Thelma Sadoff Center for the Arts.
