Construction is expected to begin next spring on a new recreation trail along Highway 23 east of Fond du lac. The county board has approved a resolution authorizing the county to enter into an agreement with the state for construction of the Plank Trail. County executive, Al Buechel, says the 12 mile long project will run from the east county line to the Prairie Trail in Fond du Lac. The county portion of the project is estimated to cost between $1.7 million and $1.8 million. Buechel says when its completed you will be able to hop on a bike and ride on the trail from Fond du Lac to Sheboygan.
