9-19-19 manure regulations-dairy business association

A spokesman for the Wisconsin Dairy Business Association says he doesn’t see how farmers would be able to meet proposed new manure storage rules desgined to minimize odor.   The standards would expand setbacks for manure storage.  Dairy Business Association government affairs director, John Holyvoet,  says  farmers want to be good neighbors.  I’m sure there are rural neighbors who do get concerned about it, both long time residents and people who are new arrivals.  But thats, to be frank, part of living in the country,”  Holyvoet told WFDL news.  The Association and other dairy groups say the regulations would make expansion nearly impossible.
