9-18-19 governor evers approves new assistant da positions across state including fdl and dodge counties

Gov. Tony Evers is placing more than 60 new assistant prosecutors in multiple Wisconsin counties.  The state budget funds 64.95 assistant district attorney positions around the state.  Evers announced Tuesday that the positions would be spread out across 56 counties including two new positions in Fond du Lac and Winnebago counties and one new position in Dodge County.  Fond du Lac County District Attorney Eric Toney says one county funded position will become a state funded position, along with one added position.  Toney says he’s grateful for the added positions and says they will help speed up the caseload.  District Attorneys have spent years lobbying for more positions while staffing levels throughout the state have been virtually stagnant for around a decade.
