9-17-19 fdl animal shelter manager warns you can’t leave your child or pet in a car on a hot day

The Fond du Lac animal shelter manager  says she wonders when some people are going to learn you can’t leave a child or a pet in a car on a hot day.   Renee Webb was reacting to the case of a Green Bay woman whose pet Golden Retriever died after being left in a hot car outside Lambeau Field.  “Unfortunately something that happens too frequently and not just with animals being left in cars, but also with children,”  Webb told WFDL news.   “There’s already been 41 kids this year in the United States that have died.”    Webb says cracking the window open a few inches doesn’t do any good.   She says you can’t leave a pet or child in a hot car, even for  a minute to run into the grocery store to pick something up.   The Green Bay woman was placed on probation and ordered to volunteer at an animal shelter.  She told the judge she had no excuse for leaving her dog in the vehicle.
