A new security checkpoint at the Fond du Lac City-County Government Center is getting closer to being put into operation. County executive Al Buechel says the target date to have the new manned metal detector at the north entrance to the building up and running is August 5. Buechel says the checkpoint will be similar to an airport security checkpoint. Buechel says employees will be able to use a key fob to enter other locked doors to the building. He says he doesn’t expect any long lines or delays for the public.
