7-13-19 prayer vigil for immigrants

Fond du Lac area residents joined the Congregation of the Sisters of  St. Agnes  in a prayer vigil to show their support for detained immigrants at the U.S.-Mexico border.    The prayer vigil was held  Friday night in the Chapel of the Sisters of St. Agnes Motherhouse in Fond du Lac.   Earlier the congregation issued a statement denouncing the treatment of immigrants, especially children,  on the border while in U.S. custody.  Sister Ruth Battagalia with the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Agnes says  “its discouraging and heart breaking.”   The statement calls on elected leaders to take all measures necessary to provide the immigrants with adequate food, shelter, healthcare, and in the case of the children,  to reunite them with their families.
