A multi-million dollar renovation project of the historic downtown Fond du Lac Retlaw Hotel is nearly complete. Hotel owner Dennis Doucette says renovation of the final rooms should be done in the next few days. “We’ve got the last two floors that we’re looking to bring on next week. The only component left to finish up will be the spa which will be a few weeks afterward,” Doucette told WFDL news. “…probably mid to late August we’re going to be presenting Player’s Club, the sports and gaming tavern, just in time for the Packer season.” Doucette says the Retlaw will be a regional destination in downtown Fond du Lac. “We’re very excited about the prospects going forward and a lot of the hard work now is behind us. We look forward to repositioning the restaurant.” Doucette says the restaurant, which opened shortly after the first of the year, will have a new menu, and a new happy hour in the bar starting next week. He says dozens of couples have booked wedding receptions in the hotel’s crystal ballroom through the end of the year.
