Fond du lac city officials are looking for new avenues to help homeowners continue to replace lead service lines.   The Fond du Lac city council has voted in favor of amending the city’s ordinance to allow water utility fund dollars be used when the Safe Drinking Water loan program expires next year.  Public Works director Jordan Skiff told  WFDL news the city has used  Safe Drinking Water loans to assist homeowners with the cost of replacing the portion of the pipe that runs from the street to the home.  Governor Tony Evers announced last month his groundwater protection plan that also would include money to assist with lead pipe replacement.
