Dozens of Fond du Lac residents have been evacuated as ice jams on the Fond du Lac river have caused flooding problems in neighborhoods along the river. Fond du Lac fire chief Pete O’Leary says firefighters have evacuated residents on South Street and between Oak and Elm Streets, south of Western Avenue. Ninety-nine apartment residents on Western Avenue were evacuated and transported to the Fond du Lac County Rec Center. Alliant Energy has shut off gas service in some areas as a precaution.
