2-15-19 long prison sentence for fdl heroin dealer

A man described as a major drug dealer in Fond du lac will likely spend the rest of his life in prison.  At a hearing Thursday afternoon Fond du lac judge Gary Sharpe sentenced 49 year old Allen Ferguson to 30 years in prison followed by 15 years of extended supervision. Last fall Ferguson pleaded guilty to six counts of manufacture deliver of heroin and six counts were dismissed and read into the record.  Ferguson was sentenced for his role in a $1 million dollar heroin conspiracy which alleged Ferguson was responsible for moving between 3,000 and 5,000 grams of heroin into Fond du Lac County during 2015 through 2016.   District Attorney Toney stated “I applaud Judge Sharpe for imposing this sentence because heroin has devastated our community for years with the total destruction being impossible to quantify. Heroin has destroyed lives, broken apart families, ruined businesses, and left many dead in our community. Those that continue dealing heroin, you will be caught and you will go to prison. To those using heroin and opioids, I urge you to seek the help and treatment you need in order to turn your life around and avoid ending up in a body bag.”   Ferguson was convicted of possessing with intent to deliver over 50 grams of heroin and five counts of delivering heroin. Ferguson faced over 100 years in prison.
