1-22-19 thiesfeldt-income tax cut plan

Fond du Lac Republican state representative Jeremy Thiesfeldt says a state surplus should be used to pay for a middle class income tax cut.    Republicans and Democratic governor Tony Evers agree  on a $340 million income tax cut that targets the middle class,  but the difference is in how they’re paid for.   Thiesfeldt says he disagrees with governor Tony Ever’s plan to cap tax breaks under a manufacturing and agriculture credit program that Republicans created.  Thiesfeldt says it makes more sense to tap into a nearly $600 million budget surplus to pay for the tax cut.  Thiesfeldt says the nonpartisan Legislative Fiscal Bureau projects the median income family filing jointly would see a $310 reduction in next taxes under the plan.
