1-22-19 league of women voters pleased with judge’s ruling on early voting restrictions

The executive director of the League of Women Voters of Wisconsin says she is pleased a federal judge has struck down early-voting restrictions enacted by Republicans in a lame-duck legislative session.  League director Erin Grunze told AM 1170 WFDL’s Between the Lines program that  efforts should be made to make it easier for people to exercise their constitutional right to vote, not to make it harder to vote.  The restrictions passed by Republicans last month limited early voting to the two weeks leading up to an election.  Republicans argued the time frame should be uniform across the state.
