A Democratic member of the legislature’s Jt. Finance committee says every day there is a delay in passing a state budget, the cost of transportation projects is going up. Republican legislative leaders are working to break an impasse in how to fund transportation. Democratic state representative Gordon Hintz of Oshkosh says he doesn’t believe the governor’s plan to seek 10 times the normal amount of federal highway redistribution money is realistic. “The money the state gets from the federal government doesn’t vary much, so unless Paul Ryan and Reince Priebus can give us some gold-plated direct connection to the federal government I don’t see that as anything more than the governor trying to get out of this for another two years,” Hintz told AM 1170 WFDL’s Between the Lines program.
