Speaker Robin Vos has appointed Republican representative Joan Ballweg of Markesan to the Speaker’s bipartisan Task Force on Foster Care. The Task Force will study and create policy initiatives to support children who are currently in the system, aging out of the system, and to prevent children from needing to enter the child welfare system. Members will travel the state and hold public hearings to gather feedback from foster care children, parents, stakeholders, and experts.
