The director of the Fair Elections Project says he is pleased the U.S. Supreme Court has agreed a lawsuit challenging redistricting maps drawn by Republicans. Sachin Chheda told WFDL news Democrats proved in court their rights were violated. The Supreme Court is expected to hear the case in October and Chheda says if it’s a favorable ruling there would be plenty of time of redraw the maps before the 2018 election. Chheda says he believes the maps were more partisan than any other time in modern history. Wiconsin Attorney General Brad Schimel says Wisconsin’s redistricting process was entirely lawful and constitutional and the district court should be reversed.
