6-22-17 dodge county sheriff citizen academy

The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office is currently accepting applications for the 3rd annual Sheriff’s Citizen Academy.   This is an opportunity for Dodge County residents to receive hands on insight into the daily operations of the sheriff’s office.   The academy takes place on Wednesday evenings from 6pm-9pm and begins in September and lasts until December.
Some of the course topics being covered in this year’s academy include:

  • Overview and tour of the Dodge County Detention Facility
  • OWI investigation
  • Crash investigation
  • Criminal investigation and evidence handling
  • Firearms and active shooter response
  • Overview and operations of the communications (911) center
  • Home life of law enforcement officer and their families
  • Other law enforcement topics

Deadline to apply is July 12, 2017.  Further information can be obtained by contacting Sergeant Michael Willmann at the sheriff’s office at 920-386-4124.  Applications are attached to this release and can also be found on-line at the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office website www.dodgecountysheriff.com.
