5-23-17 dodge county sheriff’s office says semi driver may have suffered medical condition prior to crash

The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office says the driver of a semi may have suffered a medical condition before a crash Monday afternoon. The Sheriff’s Office says the crash happened shortly after noon Monday on the interchange ramps to and from US Highway 151 at County Highway G, in the Township of Beaver Dam. The semi tractor trailer was northbound on 151 and exited at the off-ramp at Highway G, when it failed to stop at the stop sign at the top of the ramp, crossed Highway G and left the roadway adjacent to the on-ramp to northbound 151. No other vehicles were involved in the crash. The driver, from North Carolina, was transported to a local hospital for a possible injury and/or medical condition. The box trailer was loaded with Coors beer, and there was no spillage of load found. A small amount of diesel fuel may have leaked from the fuel tanks and the WI Department of Natural Resources was notified. The crash remains under investigation, and a possible medical issue with
the driver is being investigated as a possible cause in the crash.
