Veteran suicide awareness is the focus of a two day event in Fond du Lac this weekend. Marian University and Moraine Park Technical College are teaming up to raise awareness of the veteran suicide rate. President of Salute the Troops of Fond du Lac County, Dan Tinsley, says the key is identifying military veterans who may be contemplating suicide and making sure veterans have access to mental health counseling. Steve Pepper is the Student Veterans Specialist at MPTC. Pepper says its important for family members to be involved in the process. The event will kick-off Friday evening April 21sst at Moraine Park with the showing of the documentary, Project 22. The documentary follows two veterans on a cross country motorcycle ride to raise awareness about veteran suicide. On Saturday, April 22nd there will be a 2.2 mile Ruck March/Walk.
