3-29-17 fdl parks superintendent supports mcdermott park master plan

The Fond du Lac Parks superintendent says he supports a master plan for McDermott Park.   Friends of the park unveiled the plan at this week’s Advisory Park Board meeting.  Parks superintendent John Redmond says ultimately the city council will have to decide what aspects of the plan the city would be willing to fund.  “Overall it looks like a good plan.  What I really like is the trail that goes through there to connect Johnson Street with Merrill Avenue,”  Redmond told WFDL news.  “One thing that we’re not in favor of is to remove one of the ball diamonds.  The trail would have to be repositioned a bit to accomodate the existing ball diamond.”   Another recommendation is erecting a park sign to let people know the tennis courts are part of the park for the public to enjoy.
