2-8-17 unclaimed wisconsin powerball ticket-not the first time

When a $1 million Powerball lottery ticket purchased in Madison expired last week it wasn’t the first time that’s happened.     Nobody stepped forward to claim the prize by last Thursday’s deadline for the August 6th Powerball drawing.   Lottery spokesman Casey Langan says a big jackpot went unclaimed in 2009 and another lottery ticket purchased in Eau Claire expired last year with no winner stepping forward.  “Up in Eau Claire a business sold a ticket that was also worth a million dollars.  That drawing was in September of 2015 and that ticket expired last March,”  Langan told AM 1170 WFDL’s Between the Lines program.  “Just like this Madison ticket, those funds go toward property tax relief.”
