2-7-17 rural schools funding

The executive director of the Wisconsin Rural Schools Alliance says governor Scott Walker’s plan to bolster funding for rural schools is a good first step.   Kim Kaukl says he sees “good things” in Walker’s plan.  Kaukl says he hopes the governor follows through on his promise to increase public school funding when he delivers his budget Wednesday afternoon.  Kaukl says many rural schools are forced to pass operations referendums just to stay open.  He says he wants respect for public education restored following Act 10.  Kaukl was a guest on AM 1170 WFDL’s Between the Lines program.
