5-17-16 marian school of nursing not going downtown afterall

Marian University no longer plans to move its entire nursing program to downtown Fond du Lac.  In a news release Marian says the university will move only its nursing graduate program and other unnamed graduate programs to the AC Nielson building this summer.  Marian said in the release it would settle on which programs to move downtown through an ongoing “strategic planning process.”  In 2014 the Fond du Lac city council voted to authorize spending up to $255,000 to cover a potential funding gap for the project.  Community Development Director Dyann  Benson said at the time the project would bring an estimated 400 to 500 people to the downtown.
