5-17-16 town of lomira residents concerned about sex offender placement

A town of Lomira resident says she is concerned about the safety of her children if two high risk child sex offenders are placed in a home not far from where she lives.    A hearing is scheduled for Tuesday in Dodge County to consider final approval for placing sex offenders Jonathon Miller and Robert Larson Jr. at a residence on Highway 67 in the town of Lomira.  Cherie Reitz lives a couple miles down the road, but she says there is another home across the road.  “My biggest concern is just the sense of on a daily basis the safety of our family,”  Reitz told AM 1170 WFDL’s Between the Lines program.  “…they (sex offenders) are literally within walking distance of places where children are.”   Reitz says she is concerned about how long it may take law enforcement to respond in the event of an emergency.  Dodge County Sheriff Dale Schmidt is on record in opposition to the proposed placement.
